Airbus to deliver first Chinese-made plane

Airbus will deliver the first A320 aircraft assembled at its factory in China on Tuesday, according to a ChannelNewsAsia report. The plane, manufactured at the factory in Tianjin, will be delivered to Dragon Aviation Leasing and will be flown by Sichuan Airlines.
The Tianjin plant, modelled on Airbus’ factory in Hamburg, Germany, went into operation in September. Ten A319/320 aircraft will be delivered by the end of the year, before the factory starts ramps up production to four planes a month before the end of 2011.
