Airbus to develop further-range A350

Airbus and Rolls-Royce have announced plans to jointly develop the A350-1000 with more powerful engine to use on longer routes. The enhanced version of the engine will be the most powerful in an Airbus aircraft and higher thrust, which will enable airlines to fly 741km further with a full load of 350 passengers. The move will delay the plane’s entry into service by approximately two years however, with the new first delivery date now set for mid-2017.
