The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recently announced its participation in the second Ajman Liwa Dates Festival.
The event will take place from 5-7 August 2015 at Emirates Hospitality Center in Ajman. The festival is being organized by ATDD in collaboration with a special committee from Liwa Dates Festival to celebrate the harvest season of ‘Ratab’.
Ajman Liwa Dates Festival is aimed at boosting tourism in Ajman and presents an opportunity for residents and visitors to discover the varieties of dates including Neghal, Khalass, Khenaizi, Fard and Lulu among the many others.
Ferghal Purcell, general manager of The Ajman Palace Hotel, said: “There is no doubt that tourism is the single biggest and most important economic tool to drive business and development to the emirate of Ajman. This can only be achieved by an ongoing commitment from all partners in tourism on a sustained basis.”
A mix of cultural festivities are also being organized alongside the event to showcase the culture, heritage and traditions of UAE.
