Akbar Travels opens six new Kerala offices

Akbar Travels of India has kicked off 2011 with the addition of six offices in Kerala. The new offices, which are located in Allepey, Guruvayoor, Perumbavoor, Aluva, Kochi and Kozhikode, add to Akbar’s 55 IATA approved locations and another 25 non-IATA ticketing offices across India.
In the first week of January saw the opening of the Akbar Travels office in Alleppey, where the Arabian Sea meets the state’s famous backwaters. An office was also opened in the temple town of Guruvayoor. Perumbavoor, the agricultural town not far from Kochi, was also added to the Akbar branch network in January, as was Aluva, the growing commercial centre near Kochi International Airport. This branch was inaugurated by Mr M.T. Jacob, the Municipal Chairman.
The international airports at Kochi and Kozhikode also now have an Akbar Travels of India office in their vicinity. Both these offices are located just outside the periphery of the airports and offer ticketing, car rental, hotel bookings and all other travel related services.
Akbar Travels of India, R. Kannan, General Manager of the Agency, said; “With tourism in India growing by leaps and bounds, the prospect of travel business is indeed bright. The economic resurgence in India is the power behind this phenomenal growth. Akbar Travels should be present even in the smaller towns to meet the growing demand for travel services.”
Akbar Gulf Travels is also growing rapidly in the Middle East. During January, the 13th Branch office of Akbar Travels in UAE was opened in Meena Road, Sharjah. In addition the offices operating in Muscat, Doha and Saudi Arabia, 12 new domestic and International offices are in the pipeline with Kuwait and Damam are planned to be opened very soon.
