The recent announcement of Al Futtaim Group acquiring Thrifty car rental is further strengthened with the opening of a new outlet in Oman.
Thrifty Car Rental recently opened a new outlet at Muscat International Airport catering to growing passenger numbers and marking a new direction in the Sultanate.
The new branch becomes Thrifty’s main Oman location and Thrifty’s 47th in the GCC. The new location will cater to both business and leisure travellers.
As per recent statistics from Oman’s National Centre of Statistics, total number of passengers recorded at Muscat International Airport at the end of August this year increased by 6.8% compared to 2013. Total number of flights increased by 1.1%, reaching 54,038 flight movements, compared with 53,459 recorded during the same period in 2013.
Paul Milne, regional operations director, Al Futtaim Automotive Division – Rental and Leasing, said: “We are very excited about our new opportunity under the Al Futtaim umbrella in Oman. We believe the market has tremendous potential for both rental and leasing. Each of our staff is specifically trained to deliver this service across every customer touch point.”
The Thrifty Car Rentals product portfolio include short term and long term rentals as well as personal and corporate lease.
