Aldar Properties has revealed plans to launch Al Ain’s first Vox Cinema at Al Jimi Mall, the Garden City’s first shopping and entertainment destination, as part of the mall’s ongoing AED 410 million expansion and renovation project.
When it opens its doors in Q1 2018, Al Jimi Mall VOX Cinemas will offer a wide variety of blockbuster movies unmatched in Al Ain, catering to Hollywood, Bollywood and Arabic audiences.
Visitors can look forward to an unparalleled movie experience, which includes the latest in digital projection and immersive surround sound. It will feature 8 screens on the first floor of the new West Wing, increasing Vox Cinemas’ footprint to a total 193 screens across the region.
Jassem Saleh Busaibe, chief asset management officer, Aldar Properties, commented: “Our community is at the heart of everything we do and we are delighted to partner with VOX Cinemas to bring this best in class entertainment experience to Al Ain. With a great deal of expansion happening at Al Jimi Mall as part of our AED 410 million programme, VOX Cinemas is just one exciting chapter in a much bigger story that will enhance our retail offering in the city.”
The venue is part of a massive expansion programme currently in progress at Al Jimi Mall. It includes an expansion to the west side of the mall, the ‘West Wing’, adding 51 new units over three levels. This will provide additional retail space as well as new dining and entertainment outlets. An expansion to the north side of the mall, the ‘Retail Park’, will consist of three Retail Boxes with sizes ranging from 1,500 square metres to 6,500 square metres designed to accommodate different retailers’ area requirements, as well as food and beverage outlets, an event plaza and parking space for more than a thousand additional cars. The project also includes a refurbishment for the existing mall, including entrances, public spaces, canopies, flooring, toilets and food court.
