Starwood’s Aloft Hotel brand has made its debut in Dalian, northeast China.
Located in the centre of Liaoning province’s popular coastal resort city, the Aloft Dalian will offer 314 rooms, all with walk-in showers, 42-inch LED TVs, free Wi-Fi and connectivity for multiple electronic devices.
Facilities will include the Aloft brand’s signature bar and restaurant concepts, plus a 24-hour cafe and a second restaurant with a private dining room for up to 10 guests. The hotel will also offer a fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and 1,000m² of meeting space including a ballroom and five meeting rooms.
“Aloft is ideally positioned to meet the needs of the next generation of traveller and is experiencing phenomenal demand in markets worldwide,” said Charlie Dang, Starwood’s regional vice president of operations for Greater China.
“As China’s tourism market continues to evolve and grow, Chinese travellers are becoming more style-conscious, as well as more digitally- and socially-connected. They seek not only a room, but also an experience that caters to their lifestyle. With the opening of Aloft Dalian, we are further expanding our ability to meet the demands of this rapidly expanding market segment.”
Aloft Dalian becomes the lifestyle brand’s sixth opening in China, following properties in Beijing. Foshan, Zhengzhou and Haiyang. But Starwood is planning to expand its Aloft portfolio across the country, with least eight new properties in such cities as Huangshan, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Yancheng and Chengdu.
