Aloft portfolio to expand to 70 hotels next year
Starwood Hotels & Resorts is planning to expand its global portfolio of Aloft hotels to 70 next year.
Since debuting in 2008, the design and technology-focused Aloft brand has expanded to 55 hotels across the world. This growth will continue in 2012-13, with new openings planned in North and South America and Asia Pacific.
In China new Alofts will open in the Chinese cities of Zhengzhou, Yancheng and Dalian, while in India the brand will be rolled-out in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Chandigarh. Malaysia’s first Aloft will also open in Kuala Lumpur.
“With 55+ properties now open on four continents, the… brand also continues to make powerful gains in market share,” said Brian McGuinness, Starwood’s Senior Vice President for Specialty Select Brands.
“Because of Aloft’s fiercely loyal following, and its well-deserved halo around design and technology, Aloft properties have quickly grabbed market share wherever they’ve opened. Aloft’s been embraced wholeheartedly by the next generation of traveller and a broad range of travellers continue to discover the brand.”
