Amadeus’ new tool to load fares

Thenew technology will help airlines, consolidators and travel agencies toimplement the results of negotiations between airlinesand their distribution partners over fares.
“Bilateralagreements between airlines, online travel agencies and consolidators arelikely to play an ever-greater role in the traveldistribution value chain as competition increases. The fast and accurateloading of fares is growing in the list of prioritiesfor all these companies,” says Georg Ruebensal, Director of Operations forExpedia in Asia Pacific.
Negotiated- or private fares, account for roughly 40 million Amadeus bookings each year. Amadeusand the new tool offers thepower to control private fare distribution in localmarkets moreaccurately and enables organisations buying or selling travel to reactinstantly to market changes in a price-sensitive environment. The new XML FareData Interface allows large volumes of fares to be loaded automatically from an in-housedatabase to the Amadeus system.
