Amadeus says OTAs need operational improvements

A joint study by Amadeus and Hermes Management Consulting has revealed that online travel agencies (OTAs) need a better understanding of the operational cost structure in order to optimise their performance. While the study found that European online players have improved in this area, there were still improvements to be made. The report identifies four key drivers to improve the efficiency of the studied European online players and to increase profitability: Revenue diversification, improved shopping experience, automation and marketing costs.
