Amari to expand overseas

Amari Hotels and Resort is planning to expand abroad for the first time, under a new brand, the Nation reported. In the first phase of its overseas expansion, the group is set to open hotels in Vietnam and China, although details are not available yet.
A source at the Amari Group was quoted saying that there would be joint ventures with local investors and that all properties would be managed under a new brand name. The Amari Group currently has 12 properties is Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Chang, Koh Samui, Krabi, Phuket and Trang, and manages several others. The Amari Group is also planning to expand its existing Phuket hotel by adding 200 more rooms to cater for an increase in tourist arrivals.
