AmaWaterways announces first knitting cruise

River operator AmaWaterways is launching the industry’s first knitting themed cruise, which will be hosted by industry expert Barry Klein.
The seven-night voyage will depart from Vilshofen, Germany on 27 December 2014 and travel through Linz, Vienna and Bratislava before ending up in Budapest. The cruise, which will see in New Year, with festive celebrations and a champagne toast at midnight.
Kristin Karst, AmaWaterways’ executive vice president and co-owner said “The age-old handicraft of knitting is experiencing a renaissance as a younger generation rediscovers its social and creative appeal. We thought it would be a fun and creative outlet for our guests.
“In today’s increasingly digital world, more and more people are embracing the do-it-yourself, handmade trend. This cruise will bring together a community of knitters and give them opportunities to learn new techniques, find inspiration for new projects, and show off their personal style and creativity.”
The cruise will be onboard the 161-passenger AmaBella and prices start from GBP1,674 per person.
