American Cruise Lines will build another new 150- passenger riverboat similar to the Queen of Mississippi which enters service this August. Contracts have been signed and construction of the new vessel has already begun.
“We recognize a considerable strength in river cruising and have observed an increased interest in our U.S. river cruises over the last several years, “said Charles a Robertson, ceo of American Cruise Lines. “ We look forward to introducing yet another new authentic paddlewheel riverboat to meet this demand.”
The new riverboat will feature similar capacity to that of the Queen of Mississippi and will also boast 300-square foot staterooms with private balconies, a center atrium with a grand staircase, a functioning authentic paddlewheel, Wi-Fi in all staterooms, open seating dining room and complimentary cocktail hour .
