Brand USA to stage largest ever Fam trip

Brand USA, the destination marketing organisation for the United States, in partnership with American Airlines and British Airways, has announced the USA MegaFam – a multi-destination familiarisation tour for travel agents from the UK and Ireland – will take place from May 11-18.
To celebrate the fifth consecutive year, the number of travel agents participating in the 2017 familiarisation tour will increase from 100 to 107, who will travel on seven bespoke itineraries to different parts of the United States.
Two of the groups will fly on British Airways’ new routes to New Orleans, Louisiana and Oakland, California. These routes have recently been announced, along with a third to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The seven MegaFam itineraries will run simultaneously and will provide agents with a fresh perspective on the USA before all groups fly into one location for a finale event. Here, the agents will share their experiences with each other with the goal of educating other agents and enabling them to better sell the destinations upon their return to the UK and Ireland.
To be eligible to win a place on the MegaFam, travel agents in the UK and Ireland must book travellers on American Airlines and British Airways flights to the United States during the entry period starting from January 1 through April 3, 2017. In addition, they must earn a specified number of USA specialist badges on Brand USA’s official agent training site, www.USADiscoveryProgram.co.uk. Details regarding the number of required bookings and earned specialist badges to secure a place on the 2017 MegaFam will be released by the end of this year.
