Travel enthusiasts are fighting for the chance to be one of the first aboard a new luxury cruise ship — by finding microscopic codes hidden in five incredibly detailed ‘gigapixel’ photographs.
The highly-detailed gigapixel images, taken by London-based photographer, Will Pearson, depict breathtaking views across Bruges, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen and Oslo. After scouring the photographs to find the hidden codes, the lucky winner will get to discover these iconic cities for themselves as part of Celebrity Apex’s inaugural 10-night Northern Europe Capital Cities sailing.
Celebrity Cruises passengers must locate codes hidden within photos of five iconic European cities including Amsterdam, Berlin and Bruges. The high definition gigapixel images are made up of 500 individually taken photos, meaning the cityscapes can be explored by zooming in with incredible precision.
Concealed in each of the images is Celebrity Cruises’ X-shaped logo containing a unique code. But with each image containing more than four billion pixels, the hunt could take days or even weeks.
Anyone able to crack the puzzle, at https://www.celebritycruises.co.uk/x-marks-the-spot, and find all five codes will enter into a draw to win a luxury cruise onboard Celebrity Apex when she launches in March next year. Only once all five have been correctly inputted into the specially designed entry form, will users be able to submit their entry into the competition.
“Nothing can compare to discovering these amazing cities for yourself”
Jo Rzymowska, from Celebrity Cruises, said: “While Gigapixel technology allows the destinations to be explored in unbelievable precision, nothing can compare to discovering these amazing cities for yourself.
“We are so excited to offer two lucky people the chance to open up their world through this incredible 10-night itinerary which will bring these iconic cities to life. Celebrity Apex, our revolutionary new ship setting sail from Southampton in 2020, provides the ultimate in luxury and stylish design as the perfect complement to these stunning destinations.”
