China has unveiled a statue of Confucius in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, Channel NewsAsia has reported. The 7.9-metre high statue stands at an entrance to China’s National Museum, and marks a major return to favour for the ancient philosopher, whose teachings were suppressed after the communist party came to power in 1949.
