IndiGo grabs top slot for passenger market share

IndiGo has taken the first slot for passenger market share in April 2014.
The airline led the domestic market with 31.6%, followed by Jet Airways-JetLite combine 21.8% and Air India with 18.3%. All domestic carriers together flew 53.18 lakh passengers in April 2014 as compared to 52.88 lakh in March 2014.
According to the data revealed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), SpiceJet was on fourth place with 17.9% market share, while GoAir 9.5% and AirCosta 0.8%.
IndiGo carried 16.8lakh passengers, followed by Jet Airways-JetLite (11.62 lakh), Air India (9.74 lakh), SpiceJet (9.5 lakh), GoAir (5.07 lakh) and Vijayawada-based new regional airline AirCosta (45,000).
