Jet Airways has unveiled plans to launch a series of new services connecting India and Abu Dhabi.
Beginning 2017, Jet Airways will add a second daily flight to the UAE capital from Delhi, plus 28 more weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from three new Indian cities.
The new Delhi-Abu Dhabi flights will get underway on 15 January, and will be followed on 1 February by the launch of daily flights between Tiruchirappalli and Abu Dhabi. Jet also intends to commence daily flights to Abu Dhabi from Kannur and Chandigarh in the second half of 2017, subject to regulatory approvals.
Passengers on these flights will be able to connect to destinations across the world via Abu Dhabi, using Jet’s partner Etihad Airways.
“The announcements echo the friendship and strong bilateral relationship that exists between India and the UAE and represent ways in which Jet Airways, together with Etihad Airways, are working to enhance the value for our guests,” said Gaurang Shetty, Jet’s whole-time director.
“Abu Dhabi serves as a convenient air bridge between India and rest of the world, offering our guests ease of transfer and more travel options through multiple frequencies from India to Abu Dhabi and beyond to destinations in Europe, Middle East, Africa, North and South America,” he added.
The new announcements will extend the cooperation between Jet and Etihad to 18 destinations in India, from the current 15.
