Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur has rolled out several new self-service check-in kiosks.
Passengers travelling from the airport’s SkyPark Terminal can now use the six mobile kiosks to check-in and print off boarding passes, before proceeding straight to the customs and immigration area.
The units have been installed by Malaysian regional carrier Firefly, which is based at Subang.
“Now that we have delivered the kiosks, our next step is to work with the mobile check-in facility. This will enable passengers to print their boarding passes by just flashing their smartphones with the QR code at the kiosks,” said Firefly’s IT manager, Jimmy Tan.
The airline said it was now monitoring the success of the kiosks, with a view to rolling them out at other airports, such as Penang, in the future.
