Occupancy rates fall across MENA region

The latest data released by STR Global shows that occupancy rates across the Middle East and Africa region fell by 12.6% to 56.7%, while average daily rates rose 17.1% to US$188.53. Across the region, RevPAR rose by 2.3%.As reported in yesterday’s issue of TDME, Abu Dhabi saw the largest occupancy increase, while Beirut and Cairo reported the largest decreases of -46.7% and -80.1% respectively.Beirut also reported the largest decrease in ADR falling 22.7% to $187.05, compared to Cairo, which recorded a 24.8% rise to $157.42.
