The Santiburi Beach Resort & Spa on Koh Samui is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the completed of a major renovation.
The “top-to-bottom” renovation project cost US$20 million and included the development of a brand new spa. Located on Mae Nam Beach on Samui’s north coast, Santiburi is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW).
“Those who know and love Santiburi will be blown away by the changes – it’s almost like a new hotel,” said general manager Cedric Bonvin.
“Guests will be pleasantly surprised by the extent of the renovations and the exacting standards of tropical modern luxury and timeless style applied throughout. There’s nothing showy or shouty about it — all our efforts have been towards creating sanctuaries of true relaxation and timeless style, with generous use of hardwoods and beautiful timber throughout and accents of Thai culture in just the right measure.
“Samui has had a bit of a bad rap in recent years, with press coverage of the island’s transport and environmental challenges. But this is where we want to draw a line in the sand – right here on Mae Nam Beach – and invite people with open minds to rediscover not just Santiburi, but Samui itself through the prism of our serene and laid-back north shore,” he added.
The renovation included upgrades to the resort’s rooms, suites and villas, which include private pool options, as well as its F&B outlets and the new spa. The resort is set on a 300 metre stretch of beach and also features a golf course and extensive sport and leisure facilities.
