A Japanese businessman who trained for a 10-day flight aboard the International Space Station is suing the US-based space-tour operator, Space Adventures, to get back the US$25 million he paid for the flight. News.com.au has reported that Daisuke Enomoto, 37, completed his training and planned to fly to the station aboard a Russian Soyuz capsule in September 2006. However he was pulled from the three-member crew a month before liftoff, to be replaced by Dallas businesswoman Anousheh Ansari.
Enomoto alleges that Ansari was chosen to replace him because she was an investor in Space Adventures. The tour operator however, has argues that Enomoto does not qualify for a refund as he was “medically disqualified”.
