Found on the north-west edge of Malé Atoll, the hotel reflects the local heritage and culture of the Maldives throughout its estate, with signature Maldivian-style design elements informing the look and style of the property – even the name VARU is a term from the local language Dhivehi, meaning “strength, resilience and life in abundance”.
The headline features of the property will be the 108 luxury accommodaitons, made up of 39 beach front villas and 69 overwater villas. Both villa types offer minimalistic design styles with thoughtful splashes of colour, and come with the option of private pools.
The spacious confines of the beach front villas boast outdoor decking areas set against a fecund backdrop of lush green vegetation, plants and trees – while still being only a few metres from the island’s white sand beach – whereas the overwater villas feature direct access to the nearby turquoise coloured lagoon from the deck space.
On top of the glam location, all guests at the resort get to stay on the company’s ‘Platinum Plus Plan’, offering an array of food and beverage options, in-villa services and amenities, excursions, and more.
Venkata Giri, chief operating officer at Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, said: “Our ongoing expansion plans proves the strength of the Atmosphere offering and culture. We’re proud and excited to open another five-star property in the Maldives, this time with a truly Maldivian experience.
Our success is firmly rooted in the uncomplicated joy with which we are able to serve our guests, with customers consistently choosing us ahead of other well-known resorts. This latest addition to the Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts portfolio will provide guests with a naturally Maldivian experience like no other.”
