China’s Tianjin Airlines has taken delivery of its second long-haul aircraft, ahead of the launch of its inaugural flights to Auckland this month.
The new Airbus A330-200 aircraft arrived on 14 December 2016 and will embark on its first flight from Tianjin to Auckland, via Chongqing, on 21 December. The twin-aisle jet comes equipped with 260 seats – 18 in business class and 242 in economy.
Auckland will become Tianjin Airlines’ third long-haul destination following Moscow and London. The carrier now plans to build a fleet of 10 A330s by end of 2020, enabling the launch of new services to destinations including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Paris and Melbourne.
