Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company by number of hotels, has tripled the number of hotels operating under its brands in Turkey over the past two years, and now has more than 50 operational hotels in the country.
Ramada Soma became the 50th hotel operating under a Wyndham Hotel Group brand in Turkey when it opened on 14th October, TRYP by Wyndham Istanbul Taksim became the 51st when it opened on 28th October, and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Cerkezkoy became the 52nd hotel when it opened on 4th November.
“In 2016 we have already opened nine hotels in Turkey, and we hope to open an additional three hotels by the end of the year. We are currently the largest international hotel company in Turkey, and we’re continuously in talks with potential partners to expand our presence even further. It is our goal to open our 100th hotel in Turkey by 2020,” said Edwin Broers, regional vice president, Central and Eastern Europe for Wyndham Hotel Group.
Globally nearly 8,000 hotels operate under Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio of 16 iconic brands, ranging from upper upscale to midscale and economy. Currently, Wyndham Hotel Group branded hotels in Turkey operate under the brands of Wyndham Grand, Wyndham, Ramada, TRYP by Wyndham and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham.
“Turkey is a dynamic market, attracting international and domestic, leisure and business travellers. Despite a recent slow-down in inbound visitors, we think the future is bright for travel in Turkey and see opportunities for some of our brands that are currently not active in the country. There is a need for flexible accommodation at a wide range of price points, which is why we recently introduced the Hawthorn Suites brand. The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Eskişehir opened in August and the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Cerkezkoy opened just last week,” said Broers.
