All Nippon Airways may set up a low-cost unit by March next year with the aim of starting flights from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in 2010.
According to the Nikkei business daily, the carrier would open an office in Hong Kong next month to study options for the budget carrier, including ventures or the purchase of a stake in an existing airline, spokesman Kazuyuki Imanishi was quoted saying.
ANA’s budget unit will probably start flying in October 2010.
