Hotel bookings could be overtaken by Airbnb room bookings in the next few years, according to research published by Barclays.
Barclays European leisure analyst Vicki Stern highlighted that there are already more than one million rooms on the Airbnb platform.
Airbnb’s current bookings are about 37 million room-nights per year and are expanding rapidly.
The report also highlights that Airbnb currently represents more than 17% of hotel room supply in New York and more than 10% in London.
