Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has announced its expansion into the cruising sector with the launch of Anantara Cruises. The company has restored two, vintage style rice barges which lavishly accommodate guests on overnight cruises along Thailand’s Chao Phraya River.
Anantara Song takes guests on a two-night, three-day cruise to Thailand’s ancient capital, Ayutthaya. The barge can accommodate four couples and is also available for private charter. Meals are prepared in a “well-provisioned galley” and served on the upper deck. The crew stay in separate quarters from the guests who are accommodated in the five-star staterooms.
For travellers after a more exclusive experience, the Anantara Dream runs similar tours to Ayutthaya or Ang Thong. This boat accommodates just two couples, again in luxury staterooms. Anantara Dream voyages offer a private cooking class, spa, on-board yoga retreat, Thai wine tasting class and self guided walking tours at various points of interest.
