Anantara Vacation Club, a new shared holiday ownership concept, has kicked off in Asia with the opening of its first sales preview centres in Koh Samui and Phuket.
Anantara Vacation Club offers a points-based multiple destination flexible holiday ownership option for consumers who want to holiday in Asia. The Club Resort Collection initially comprises a series of luxury private villas on the islands of Koh Samui and Phuket with an additional resort location planned to be added in Bali in the third quarter of 2011. Over the next five years, the Club will add up to 10 more resorts and expand its marketing reach across Indonesia, China and the Middle East.
In addition to utilising the Club Resorts the owners will enjoy the opportunity to stay at Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas worldwide under the Club Escapes flexible-use arrangement. The Club Owners holiday options are further enhanced by an affiliation to Resort Condominiums International (RCI) which opens up access to over 4000 resorts worldwide.
Harold Derrah, CEO of Anantara Vacation Club said; “The shared ownership industry is relatively undeveloped in the Asia Pacific region. During the past 11 years, it is estimated that more than US$150 billion of resort timeshare has been sold on a global basis, however this amount is estimated at only about US$2.1 billion in the Asia Pacific region. There are almost seven million members in shared ownership on a global basis, and roughly 250,000 in Asia Pacific.
“Anantara Vacation Club is positioned to take the lead in providing a luxury brand in an affordable ownership model, to accommodate the more flexible holiday habits of today’s consumer.”
The launch of Anantara Vacation Club marks a key stage in Anantara’s development, extending the 10 year-old brand’s reach across the hospitality industry. Under the umbrella of Minor International, Anantara Hotels & Resorts was launched in 2001 in Thailand, and has since grown to encompass 14 properties in Asia and the Middle East.
Dillip Rajakarier, COO of Minor Hotel Group, said; “Anantara is a brand that is constantly expanding, not only in terms of increasing locations around the world, but also with regard to deepening our understanding of guest expectations to such an extent that we are now in a position to pre-empt and exceed them. In choosing to join Anantara Vacation Club, club owners can expect unrivalled flexibility in using their Club Points, and the peace of mind that comes with joining a multiple award winning brand, and a company whose statistics speak volumes.”
