Anantara launched its first luxury resort in Sri Lanka this month, located on the country’s south coast.
The new 152-key Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort is set on an 8.5-hectare coconut plantation that opens onto a beach and the Indian Ocean. The 120 rooms all come equipped with balconies or terraces overlooking the gardens or ocean, while the 32 one- and two-bedroom villas feature private plunge pools and outdoor decks.
The resort offers six F&B venues, including international, Italian and tapas restaurants, a lobby lounge and poolside bar, while a Sri Lankan-inspired Teppanyaki restaurant is expected to open in early 2016.
Alternatively, guests can choose to dine in their room, villa or anywhere in the resort’s grounds with the ‘Dining by Design’ concept.
There is also an Anantara Spa featuring eight treatment rooms, a reflexology centre and a hair and beauty salon.
Tangalle is located 195km from Colombo and can be accessed by sea-plane flights, helicopter transfers or by three-and-a-half hour drive.
