Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) and UK think-tank Taxpayers’ Alliance have both backed the recent campaign on APD rates.
The added support for the ‘A Fair Tax on Flying’ campaign follows its launch last week, which has already seen more than 4,000 signatures.
However, the group has said it needs at least another 10,000 signatures before the government listens.
“As we approach mid-year the Fair Tax on Flying campaign, in which the SPAA is an active partner, is about to enter a new phase – the goal to get 100,000 people to send an email to their MP outlining concerns about the current levels of APD and the damage it is doing. We in the SPAA support this new phase of the campaign 100% and we’re actively encouraging our member colleagues and their clients to respond positively,” said Kevin Thom, president of SPAA.
