LUIS MAROTO has been announced as the new President & CEO of Amadeus. Maroto was formerly the travel technology company’s Deputy CEO, and has been with the company for 11 years. Prior to joining Amadeus he worked with the Bertelsmann Group.
DR CHIA-JUCH CHANG has been appointed Chairman of China Airlines. Dr Chang has served on the airline’s Board of Directors since August 2008, and was also previously Taiwan’s Vice Minister of Transportation & Communications, a position he held until 2005.
GORDEN PENFOLD has been named as the new Senior Vice President of IT for Etihad Airways. Based in Etihad’s head office in Abu Dhabi, UK national Penfold will lead the airline’s IT team. He joins Etihad after a 13-year career with British Airways.
STEFAN HUEMER has been named Area General Manager for Jumeirah’s two new Maldives properties; Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vittaveli, opening in Q1 2011. Huemer was previously GM of the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City.
RUSS HAMMER has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Orbitz Worldwide. Hammer joins from Colorado-based Crocs Inc, where he served for three years as Chief Financial Officer. He previously worked for Motorola Inc for 29 years.
RICHARD HODGES has been announced as Oman Air’s new Chief Officer for Hotels & Catering. Hodges has more than 30 years’ experience in hotel and catering, including a spell as Vice President of Business Development for Regal Hotels International.
ANDREAS OBEROI has been appointed General Manager of The St Regis Bangkok. A 25-year hotel industry veteran, Oberoi comes to Bangkok from Starwood’s luxury resort in Sardinia, Hotel Romazzino Porto Cervo, where he was General Manager.
GREGORY P. KALDAHL has been named Finnair’s Senior Vice President of Resources Management. Kaldahl, who will also be on the airline’s Executive Board, previously served as Vice President of Resources Management for United Airlines.
HOLMAN FONG has been named Director of Sales & Marketing for the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel. A Canadian national, Fong has extensive experience in Asia, including a recent spell as General Manager of Le Fenix Hotel Bangkok.
HOLGER JACOBS has been named Director of Sales & Marketing of the new St Regis Bangkok. Jacobs, who has nine years’ experiences as a Director of Sales & Marketing, comes to Thailand from The St Regis Beijing, where he held the same position.
TRICIA CORNELIUS has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing for the Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa, Queensland. Ms Cornelius has more than 15 years experience, most recently as Director of Global Sales at Starwood’s Auckland office.
