ASI to open Buddha museum in Odisha

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has decided to set up a site museum at Lalitgiri, Odisha to house the sacred Buddhist relics retrieved during the excavation.
Kumar Selja, India’s Minister for Culture said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha that during the excavation by ASI Bhubaneswar circle, three sets of relic casket containers made of Khondalite stone were recovered from the Mahastupa at Lalitgiri. The relic caskets are in safe custody in Bhubaneswar circle.
