ATDD revenues on the rise

The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recently announced the tourism statistics of Ajman for the year 2014.
“Ajman tourism revenues reached nearly AED300 million in 2014, compared to AED220 m in 2013,” said Dalal Al Marzouqi, ATDD research and development executive. The average room rates in Ajman were AED 275 for a night.
The number of hotel and hotel apartments’ guests in 2014 increased to 850,000, compared to about 600,000 in the previous year. In 2014, average hotel occupancy rates reached 65%, Al Marzouqi said.
Four-star hotels lead the way with occupancies hailing from Russia, CIS market, UAE nationals and residents, Arab countries, GCC countries, Asia and Europe. About 100,000 Europeans visited Ajman in 2014, 30,000 of them were German citizens.
The number of Ajman Museum visitors doubled in 2014 to reach 26,000 visitors, compared to 13,000 in 2013. The number of hotel establishments in Ajman reached 31 in 2014, compared to 29 in 2013, adding that total number of rooms and units became 2992 in 2014, from 2610 in 2013. The number of hotel beds reached 4938 in 2014, compared to 4235 in 2013.
