Gulf Air has increased its capacity and frequency on routes which have sold well on the run up to summer, the airline revealed today. Its Bahrain-Manila schedule has been increased from 10 flights a week to 12 and will also be operated by an A330 from 11 May. Meanwhile its Istanbul service will have 153% more capacity from 15 May when an extra weekly flight and A320 is added to the route. Services to Colombo, Kathmandu, Larnaca and Bangkok will also be increased. “Many of these destinations are very popular with our customers and are already witnessing over 80% bookings, and come summer, the demand will be even higher. So we have made sure to meet the summer rush by increasing frequencies and operating bigger aircraft,” explained Karim Makhlouf, chief commercial officer at Gulf Air. “In addition, we have also introduced split schedules on some routes giving flexible options for our customers to choose their arrival and departures according to their leisure needs.”
