Royal Caribbean has announced a new Middle East route sailing through the Gulf from Dubai to India via Oman, and featuring three nights in different locations in India, including Mumbai, Goa and Cochin. Helen Beck, the cruise line’s regional director for EMEA spoke exclusively to Travel Daily at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.”These new routes represent great appeal to a lot of people,” said Beck. “The 2012 season features an extended Middle East presence. Brilliance of the Seas will be returning to the Middle East region with her longer season starting in November and then sailing to April 2013,” she added. Also as part of the company’s tie-up with DreamWorks, the cruise line will play host to some of the animation studio’s most popular characters. “Shrek is appearing on four of the Royal Caribbean ships including Liberty of the Seas, which will be sailing out of Barcelona on seven-night itinerates through the western Mediterranean and he’ll be there to greet the families and children as they board,” said Beck.
