Atmosphere, a recently launched company owned by EON Resorts, has unveiled its plans for upcoming properties in the Indian Ocean, including an all-inclusive property in the Maldives.
The first resort, the Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives is due to open in December, with three more properties currently being negotiated in other parts of the Indian Ocean.
The announcement, which was made at a press conference in London, also detailed the company’s new ‘Platinum Plus’ package, which offers a fully inclusive experience for guests within a luxury setting.
Dinesh Bhaskar director of sales & marketing for the company said: “One of the biggest issues for the Maldives in the past has been price. It’s all of the extras. I have been involved in many pre-openings for brands in the past and I’ve seen hotels charge up to US$18 for a cappuccino. We are looking to change that with Atmosphere and Platinum Plus. “
The all-inclusive initiative will see the company include services like Wi-Fi, escorts for arrival and departure, all food and beverages, mini-bar and entertainment. The only items not included in the price are spa and diving treatments as well as fine dining if a guest wants to use the speciality restaurant after their one included meal in that specific venue. However the hotel has committed to covering 50% of a couple’s first massage and 20% on a guest’s first two dives.
The company is also looking to open more hotels in the coming years, Bhaskar said, one more in Maldives, in the Male Atoll; and another in the Seychelles, which will be a mountain reserve.
“In the next five years, we intend to have four properties,” he added. “That’s the plan. If we have three very good resorts then we’ve done OK. This is an exciting time for the Indian Ocean market”
