ATR opens Singapore training centre
Turboprop aircraft manufacturer ATR has officially opened its new training centre.
The facility, which will train both for pilots and maintenance crew, is located in the Seletar Aerospace Park, and has the capacity to train more than 600 aviation workers per year. It features a new full flight simulator for the ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600, plus other flight training devices and classrooms for training on multiple ATR aircraft.
“We are pleased to expand our presence with this new training facility focused on the rapidly growing regional carrier market in Southeast Asia,” said Filippo Bagnato, ATR’s CEO. “ATR’s extensive presence in Asia and around the globe, together with our unwavering commitment to quality, assures our customers of the highest fidelity and reliability for their training programmes. The aim is to be always closer to our customers”.
Lim Kok Kiang, Executive Director, Transport Engineering of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), said he welcomed the new training centre.
“We are absolutely delighted that ATR has chosen to locate its regional training centre in Singapore. ATR’s investment is a strong vote of confidence for Singapore, and underscores our efforts to provide comprehensive aftermarket solutions for Asia Pacific. We look forward to deepening our partnership with ATR as it continues to grow and expand in this region.”
The Singapore facility becomes ATR’s fourth training centre worldwide, following existing bases in Toulouse, Paris and Johannesburg.
