Theme Park and Attraction ticket specialist, Attraction World reports that sales of its ‘ONE’ ticket introduced in January 2009 to provide agents with an easy to book, all encompassing ticket for Florida theme parks, are up 50% in January 2010, year on year. In a move to further simplify the Florida ticket market and offer agents easy to book packages at this peak sales time, the operator has also introduced a combined Disney and Universal ticket and a Disney and Worlds of Discovery ticket that are all exclusive to them and cant be booked once in resort. The ‘new-to-do’ ticket introduced in April 2009 is also expected to excel this year as it will include the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and the Sesame Street Safari of Fun and Busch Gardens both of which open in the Spring. Tony Seaman, sales and marketing director at Attraction World comments “We expect the Florida theme park market to be on a par in 2010. Over the last few years, flight capacity has been reduced by around 30%, but despite this, we are still operating at over 100% up and outperforming other retailers. Agents should be encouraged that clearly, customers are still demanding tickets and we believe our exclusive options are driving sales in this area. Two or three years ago the market was very complex, with each park having its own ticket variations and everyone fighting for a voice. We have worked hard to simplify this for agents and give them simple, easy to book options, targeting different types of customers with open, non-restrictive tickets at a great price.” “We know that approximately 50% of customers still buy their tickets when the arrive in Florida so agents have the ongoing challenge of getting them to pre-book. However - a few simple sums by an agent will show that buying tickets at the gate can be three or four times more expensive. At this key booking time I can’t urge agents strongly enough to ensure they sell Florida theme parks confidently to help earn themselves more revenue.” Attraction World’s packages are valid for departures anytime in 2010 and include: 1) Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando –
