Auckland Airport has welcomed the announcement by Jetstar that it will launch new daily services between the New Zealand hub and both Sydney and the Gold Coast, effective 28 April 2009, the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation has reported.
“We are delighted to have Jetstar commence services from Auckland,” said Auckland Airport Chief Executive Officer, Simon Moutter. “This announcement supports the strong potential for growth in the trans-Tasman market, and will ensure New Zealand’s gateway continues to serve demand for travel to and from our closest neighbours”.
The two new daily Jetstar services equate to an additional 258,000 seats on offer each year.
