Aurora Expeditions will be offering passengers the chance to snorkel in Antarctica this season.
Led by expert polar diving guides using specially-designed waterproof snorkel-drysuits, gloves, hoods, weight-belts, fins, masks, and snorkels, guests will be provided with training and equipment prior to entering the freezing waters.
The snorkelling trips will be conducted daily, depending on the weather, in sheltered bays, offshore islands and ship wrecks in Antarctic waters, as part of several voyages in 2014 and 2015.
These include the 10-19 February 2014, 19-28 February 2014 and 19-28 February 2015 ‘Across the Antarctic Circle’ sailings and 28 February-11 March 2014 and 28 February-9 March 2015 ‘Weddell Sea & Antarctic Peninsula’ voyages.
Polar snorkelling becomes the latest activity aboard Aurora’s Antarctic sailings, following scuba diving, sea kayaking, camping, climbing and photography.
