Aurora Expeditions has unveiled a brand new 24-day Arctic voyage as part of its 2017 programmes.
The comprehensive ‘Arctic Complete’ cruise will take passengers to Spitsbergen, Greenland and Iceland, to provide what the company says will be the “ultimate Arctic adventure”.
Starting on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen, in the Svalbard archipelago, passengers will cruise past glaciers and abandoned settlements before heading north in search of polar bears.
The 54-passenger Polar Pioneer expedition ship will then attempt to circumnavigate the remote island before crossing the Greenland Sea to the Northeast Greenland National Park – the world’s largest national park – and the world’s largest fjord system in Scoresby Sund.
It will then head to Iceland where passengers will be able to explore a remote settlement, before ending the expedition in Reykjavik.
Aurora will also launch three other Arctic itineraries in 2017: the 14-day ‘Across the Arctic Circle’ expedition from Scotland to Spitsbergen via northern Norway, three 11-day ‘Spitsbergen Odyssey’ voyages, and two 14-day ‘Jewels of the Arctic’ voyages that include Spitsbergen, Greenland and Iceland.
