Avalon Waterways is providing trade partners with the opportunity to increase their river cruise product knowledge with a series of familiarisation trips and the offer of hosting senior management meetings aboard one of the luxury river cruise line’s newest Suite Ships, Avalon Tapestry II.
Up to 80 agents from independents, consortia and online travel agencies will be hosted on three and four night shortened itineraries of Avalon’s popular ‘Paris to Normandy Landing Beaches’ cruise on departures throughout April. All will enjoy first hand the Avalon river cruise experience including spacious staterooms, a la carte dining, a high level of personal service, state-of-the-art facilities and guided excursions.
A jointly hosted cruise with CLIA on Avalon Tapestry II will also take place from 6-8 April with up to 20 agents invited. CLIA has targeted cruise agent members who have not experienced a river cruise before and want to increase their product knowledge in the fastest growing sector of the UK cruise market. The ship will also be the venue for the CLIA Cruise Travel Agent Advisory Council hosted by Andy Harmer.
Paul Sharp, Avalon’s national account manager, commented: “It’s a difficult challenge for agents who haven’t experienced a river cruise to be really confident in selling all aspects of this high value holiday product. As the market becomes even more competitive, we are committed to providing as many agents as possible with the opportunity to experience it themselves, increase their product knowledge and be confident in selling river cruise to customers.”
