The eyes of the global aviation industry will turn to Singapore next week, when the Singapore Air Show returns to Changi Exhibition Centre.
The event, which runs from 11-16 February 2014, will include major displays from the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus and Boeing. Airbus will use the event to showcase its A350 aircraft. The new wide-body jet, which is making its debut at an international air show, will be on static display, a well as taking part in flying displays on 11 and 12 February.
Boeing meanwhile, will feature models of two of its new aircraft, the B737 MAX and B777-9X, along with the B777-300ER and B787 Dreamliner. On static display will be Qatar Airways’ B787-8 and SilkAir’s first new B737-800, which was delivered to the Singaporean airline earlier this month.
“As the global aerospace community comes together for the Singapore Airshow, Boeing sees this as a great platform to talk about our company plans and the focus on expanding our international foothold in Asia-Pacific,” said Skip Boyce, president of Boeing Southeast Asia.
Other major manufacturers attending the show include ATR, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), Embraer, Bombardier, Saab and Gulfstream.
In total, approximately 900 companies from 50 countries are expected to exhibit in Singapore, while more than 44,000 professional visitors are expected to attend. There will also be a series of forums and conferences, including the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit (SAALS) and the Asia Pacific Security Conference (APSEC).
