The five-star hospitality property – Azaiba Hotels – is all set to be opened in the coming months with the addition of 258 rooms including 24 suites. This will boost tourism to Oman and will redefine the local tourism, according to the promoters of this flagship project.
Built at a cost of OMR 30 million by PMI International and Al Thabat Holding on the Airport Heights, the hotel is trying to be a fusion of Asia and Far East both in terms of its appearance as well as its culinary delights.
Moideen Ali, director, Azaiba Hotels said that an attempt to create something special for the city – a feel of luxury without being opulent – has been made without compromising on quality or standard.
“Azaiba Hotels is going to be an understated elegance in the sense that it is a five-star full luxury business hotel of Muscat and Oman and international experience with distinct Omani experience as well,” said Moideen.
There will be four differently-themed restaurants and multi-level basement parking as well as other amenities. The trial runs of the same are currently underway. Azaiba Hotels has undertaken this project and built the property to five-star international standards from their experience from the two other hotels in India – The Le Meriedien in Kochi and The Westin Chennai.
There are two floors below the ground floor which is around 16 metres down and four guest floors and spa which will be run by an international operator, a gym, a business centre, board rooms and four meeting rooms, a banquet room that can accommodate 500 people, besides other amenities.
