BA to launch flights to Korea
British Airways will launch its first flights to South Korea later this year.
From 2 December 2012, the UK flag carrier will operate six weekly flights between London Heathrow and Seoul Incheon airport. Tickets for the flights go on sale today (Thursday 3 May).
The direct flights will be operated using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with four cabins – First and Club World business class, both of which include fully flat beds, as well as World Traveller Plus premium economy and World Traveller economy class.
“We are tremendously excited about starting direct services to Korea and playing a role in developing closer links between the Korean and UK economies,” said Kevin McQuillan, BA’s Regional General Manager for East Asia. “Seoul is an important market for both tourism and business and is the biggest origin and destination market in East Asia that we do not currently fly to.”
Vishal Sinha, the airline’s Country Manager for Japan & Korea, added; “British Airways is looking forward to expanding its footprint in Asia, and we are honoured to be welcoming travellers from Korea on board our aircraft. Customers will experience our quintessentially British style of premium service on board. Those going onward from London will connect conveniently at our home, Terminal 5, to a wide range of destinations on our extensive European and African route network.”
