A baby girl has had her first taste of the world on a Finnair flight, approximately 11,000km above Kazakhstan. The baby’s Swedish mum was en route from Bangkok to Helsinki when she went into labour. The birth took place with the assistance of a doctor from the MedLink medical service by satellite phone link with two doctors on board the flight.
“Finnair wants to congratulate warmly the whole family on this happy event,” says Christer Haglund, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications. The family will get return Finnair flights to Bangkok as a gift, Haglund added.
