Bahrain’s international airport expansion attracts over USD2bn

The major expansion and overhauling for Bahrain International Airport (BIA) will be completed in the next five years. Some of the work undertaken includes upgrade of facilities and expansion of passenger capacity the airport modernisation program. The total cost estimated is around US$ two billion and once completed, will boost capacity to 13.5 million passengers a year.
These developments and many more will be highlighted at the forthcoming Bahrain international Airports/Aviation development forum. The event will be held from 1-2 April 2015 in conjunction with the Middle East cargo and logistics expo and conference.
The aviation and logistics industry is getting bigger due to massive investments in airports expansion and new developments that are needed to accommodate growth in air traffic in the region. Some of the key speakers at the event will hail from airports across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
The other areas of focus will be on regional airport and logistics developments with decision-makers utilizing the show to explore and finalize procurements and supplies.
