Authorities in Bali have said that construction of the Serangan-Tanjung Benoa expressway will start in April 2011, and is likely to be completed in seven months. According to local news portal, Bisnis.com, the 11.5km coastal toll road will cut through 2km of mangrove forest, and will incorporate a 350-metre-long bridge that will span the entrance to Benoa port.
