Bangkok Airways will begin daily flights to Macau from July 4. It will use a new twin engine Airbus A319 able to carry 120 passengers.
Bangkok Airways Chief Executive Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth was quoted by Bangkok Post as saying that the Bangkok-Macau route offered high passenger load factors of 80% within six months.
The report said the carrier was eyeing a share of the lucrative route now served by Thai AirAsia and Air Macau.
The report said arrivals from Thailand into Macau numbered just over 140,000 last year. It is expected to grow at least 20-25%, the report said, quoting the Macau Government Tourist Office in Bangkok.
